Yikes, you got played. But don't take it personal, she finagled some of the major news networks for awhile before they eventually caught on despite how much they wanted to believe and push her story. Take the L and press on.
1) Write a story based completely upon one person’s lies
2) get corrected by people who do research and get shamed into admitting you were wrong and your source lied
3) rewrite the entire story
4) get a panicked phone call from the known liar who doesn’t want you to destroy what reputation she has left, and she gives you a new version of events which are real this ti,e she promises
5) rewrite the story a third time.

Seriously, the more I read this, the worse it comes off. We need some answers. You saw Jones’ messages with her attorney, but none mention this supposed plea deal or clarified what the state’s intentions were? How is Jones’ lawyer not involved in the State Attorney’s phone call to tell her they’re “settling?” If she was, did you see that message? Did anyone not care to ask a follow up? You both seriously want us to believe that Jones cannot recall important details of a phone call with this State Attorney from a little over a month ago? Did she say anything to his person other than “hello?” Also, if Jones knows they’re settling in early July, why does she say on Instagram on July 27th that Pushaw is going on trial in August? Can you or will you answer ANY of that?
Rebekah Jones confirmed today on her own Instagram that the Assistant State Attorney informed her in writing prior to July 4th that the case against Pushaw was being dropped. Jones’s “clarifications” of her false statements that she received a vague call from the ASA and she misremembered details was another fabrication. At what point will you need to admit to your readers that you based this entire story on a lie?
Yeah, I think Pushaw rallies way too hard against Jones for these to be false charges. She has minions who search Twitter daily for mentions of Jones and herself so that they can shut them down immediately with RU intimidation tactics.
It seems that Christina Pushaw went after Rebekah Jones in Maryland, not the other way around. If Christina had never had anything to say about or to Rebekah, there would be no history between them - or are we missing a previous history? And then, having made Rebekah unsettled enough to file a complaint, Christina used that (and the negative articles about Rebekah generated by rightwing media) as part of her "credentials" for a job with Gov. DeSantis. From that view point, having pushed Rebekah to the point of a risking a stalking conviction made Christina uniquely desirable as a close employee for Ron DeSantis - who has long appeared to be vengeful toward Rebekah. Ron apparently doesn't take well to state employees who won't do his bidding and stay quiet.
